Naava accelerates growth with 2,2 M€ Nordic crowdfunding round from Pepins
In January 2017, people in the Nordics can become owners of Naava to help provide Nordic forest air to polluted megacities all over the world.
Finnish health technology company Naava, specialized in biological air purification, is opening its ownership to all interested people in Sweden and Finland. The investment round will be handled via the leading Swedish equity crowdfunding company Pepins, which offers a unique way of crowdfunding as investors secure the shares immediately before the round closes. Moreover, Pepins also provides a secondary market for the shares, being the only company in the world to offer this service combination.
“Over the years, hundreds of people have asked us how they could be part of the Naava story. The next global health trend is the air we breathe. For the last five years, we've been working on our unique Naava smart green wall technology, which brings nature and fresh air inside offices and homes. The modern people spend 90% of their time indoors, where we lock ourselves out of fresh air and nature. We vision that by 2025, a billion people can choose to breathe Nordic forest air, everyday, everywhere. Via the Pepins investment round, we invite everyone to join us in making this happen,” said Aki Soudunsaari, Founder & CEO of Naava.
In the urban wellbeing boom, indoor air is still an untapped opportunity
Naava has created a smart green wall which combines nature’s own purification power with Finnish cleantech expertise and Nordic design. The result is a unique biological indoor air purifier that makes the indoors ideal for human health: cleans the air of impurities, creates natural air for people to breathe and adjusts humidity to be optimal. The unique, furniture-like Naava green wall, which is based on NASA’s research, is equivalent to over 4000 ordinary houseplants. Watch this short video (1,5 min) for more info on how Naava works. Currently, Naava air is enjoyed at Apoteket, AMF Fastigheter, AstraZeneca, City of Stockholm, GE Healthcare, Finnair, Hanken School of Economics, Radisson Blu, Scandic, SEB, Silja Line, Svea Ekonomi, Vincit and in over 300 other companies and organisations in Finland and Sweden.
"It is an honor for us to welcome one of Finland’s most promising and innovative growth companies to Pepins. Naava, with its state-of-the-art technology, solves a huge health problem and healthy indoor air offers a truly global and scalable opportunity. Imagine breathing forest grade air right inside your office or home! We are thrilled to invite both professional investors and private individuals to become shareholders in Naava through our unique crowdfunding model on Pepins," said Pepins founder & president Anders Sjunnesson.
“We looked at the different crowdfunding platforms in the Nordics and selected Pepins due to their new, innovative approach and excellent track record. Pepins has had one of the most successful crowdfunding cases of all time with Paradox Interactive with its 11.8 million dollar round. We have deep roots in the Nordics and wanted a Nordic partner to help us provide Nordic forest air to polluted megacities all over the world,” said Aki Soudunsaari.
Before this investment round, Naava has raised about 6 million euros in equity funding. In addition, Naava has received over a million euros in non-equity R&D funding from Finnish innovation funding agencies and the European Union.
The investment round is set to start at the end of January, 2017. The exact date will be announced later. People can join Pepins and receive info on the Naava investment case on http://www.pepins.com/companies/naava
